Marianne Udow-Phillips, Mu Consulting Personal Statement
American health care is the most expensive in the world and yet the outcomes are not commensurate with the spending; tremendous inequities exist; critical human service and public health interventions are often siloed and without adequate resources. U.S. spending is disproportionately allocated to medical care at the expense of other investments that could improve human health and well-being.
These issues are deep seated and long standing. Addressing them, takes innovation, collaboration and deep understanding of American values, history, politics, health and human services systems. Solutions and progress require collaborations, innovations and persistence.
Marianne Udow-Phillips’ career has spanned public health, medical care and human services in both the private and the public sector. She has a depth of knowledge on health and human service systems at the national, state and local level. She understands comparative international systems. She has led teams to create new collaborations, build coalitions and focus on integration of health and human services. She is a speaker, a writer and a mentor to help others to achieve and advance the goals of expanding access to care and address social injustice.
Through Mu Consulting, Marianne can offer strategic consulting to both illuminate complex issues and navigate solutions at the intersection of public health, medical care and human services.
